GENERAL STRIKE OF ADMINISTRATION EMPOYEES

Union of the City of Nis Administration announced total cessation of work on Monday, March 12, 2012, from 7.30 to 18:00. According to a statement released to the media, "the employee will be at their desks, but will not perform the duties of his job or work with the parties." President Palilula, PhD Igor Novakovic supported the demands of the workers of the Management Board. He said that all municipal employees of Palilula can decide how to behave during the protest and therefore will not have any sanctions. The strike on Tuesday will be slightly altered, and will last "only" from 11:00 to 12:00. With this, as it has been announced, it will be continued daily to meet the needs of citizens. Therefore, the Union advised the citizens to postpone their actions and demands to to Tuesday or the next day regarding the administrational departments of the City of Nis.

We believe that our citizens have an understanding of our protest against the injustice - the statement said. The reason for the strike is the recent reduction of wages of a large number of employees in local government and also a substantial increase in income city officials.
